Organised a ‘Reproductive Health camp’ in R Block of Raghubir Nagar slum area, in collaboration with Deepalaya Plan Project and JJ Samiti. The camp was preceded by a number of meetings and workshops with the Samiti members, community leaders and health workers.

  01 September 1996
Organised a ‘Reproductive Health cum AIDS Awareness Camp’ in collaboration with Kalakar Trust at the slum called Kathputli Colony, near Shadipur Depot situated in West Delhi. The camp was preceded by three workshops for women and men from the targeted population to mobilise the community leaders, health workers and to promote the concept of reproductive health in women and their sexual partners. ‘NGO AIDS Cell’ AIIMS provided the support in the form of group counseling, poster exhibition, Video film show and individual counseling to the men. NACO, Min. of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India sponsored the programme. The National Institute of Communicable Diseases provided most of the laboratory support. The main objective of the camp was to screen men and women for STDs, treat and counsel them. Unlinked Anonymous HIV Surveillance was part of the programme. A team of doctors and counselors regularly visited the place for the follow up treatment and counseling.

  1 February 1997
Organised a ‘Reproductive Health cum AIDS Awareness Camp’ for the army troops and their families in the Army Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt. Approximately 4000 soldiers and 200 women attended the camp. They were informed about AIDS & STDs by personal interaction, condom demonstration, AIDS/STDs related games, and through traditional performing arts such as Magic Show, Puppet Show, Folk songs and dance, Qawwali and Street Plays. Adequate IEC materia; such as flyers, posters, leaflets were displayed and distributed. A team provided specific information on Sexuality. 12 more NGOs active in the field of AIDS prevention programme participated in the camp. The Camp was funded by NACO.

  29 March 1997
Organised a ‘‘Reproductive Health cum AIDS Awareness Camp’ for the troops of Rajputana Rifles Centre , using the same strategies as on 1 Feb. 1997. 12-13 local NGOs participated in the programme. Nearly 2000 soldiers and their families were made aware of AIDS/STDs and reproductive/sexual health issues. The Camp was funded by NACO.

  13 July 97
Organised a ‘Reproductive Health cum AIDS Awareness Camp’ in collaboration with ‘Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Naseerpur Constituency (Adult Literacy Campaign), in Sagarpur , for women and their sexual partners. 13 other NGOs participated in the camp including NGOs working for substance abuse in Sagarpur.

  17-18 October 97
Organised a 2 day ‘Reproductive Health & AIDS Awareness Camp’, in the slum Kathputli Colony, Pandav Nagar near Shadipur Depot in West Delhi, in collaboration with Kalakar Trust and 7 other NGOs. Around 500 men and women attended the camp. All the components of the camp described above were involved in this camp too. A team of Epidemiologist and laboratory technician from NICD also participated in the camp to provide laboratory support. The camp was funded by NACO

  22 & 23 March 1998
Organised a 2 day ‘Reproductive Health & AIDS Awareness Camp’, in the slum Kathputli Colony, Pandav Nagar near Shadipur Depot in West Delhi, in collaboration with Kalakar Trust and 9 other NGOs. Free dental and eye check up was also provided in addition to other STD/AIDS prevention activities. The camp was funded by NACO.
